PPH- Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoid

Traditional hemorrhoid surgery is a painful procedure that requires a prolonged period of recovery.  Pioneered in Italy, the PPH procedure (Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids) is an effective, virtually pain free alternative that reduces recovery time to a matter of days.  By contrast, traditional hemorrhoid surgery can require several days in the hospital and up to six weeks recovery time.

In essence, the procedure repositions the mucosa, or anal canal tissue, and reduces blood flow to the internal hemorrhoids, shrinking- usually within 4 to 6 weeks of the procedure.  The entire procedure is performed above the denate line inside the anal canal and affects very few nerve endings—especially when compared to traditional hemorrhoid procedures.  With the PPH, there is significantly less pain.  Patients usually leave the hospital the same day and can resume normal activities in 3 to 5 days.
