Glaucoma procedure Glaucoma filtering procedures are performed to relieve the pressure in the eye when conventional drops and laser techniques have failed. In 1973, Dr. Poland was the first doctor to perform this technique in the State of Minnesota during his residency at the VA Medical Center of Minneapolis. The surgery takes approximately one half hour and eliminates the need for drops in approximately 70% of all cases. |
